I’ve been wondering about something for some time now… Why do companies sell so many phones?

You know, HTC, Nokia, Sony Ericsson. They have SO many phones, it’s actually pretty hard to find the right one, sometimes.

HTC Legend

HTC Desire

HTC Tattoo

HTC Hero

HTC Smart

HTC Magic

and more…

Pretty many, huh? Why don’t they, or maybe a new company, create just one ultimate phone? Just like Apple. They keep updating the same phone for a year, before selling a new. I think other companies should try to do the same thing with one of the other mobile systems like Android or Windows Phone 7.

Is it just me, or do you think it would be nice too? Of course it’s also good to sell many phones, it gives the users more choices. But one awesome phone that doesn’t get old the day after the purchase, that’s nice! Again, I was just wondering about this…

For just 2 days ago, Apple held their iPhone 4 Press Conference to talk about their new mobile phone. They mainly talked about the antenna problem, which everyone has been talking about, including me.

Apple decided to offer free cases to all customers, and if they still don’t like the phone, they can get their money back. People with bumpers already can get a refund.
Steve also mentioned that only 0.55% of iPhone 4 customers have called AppleCare about the issue, and that the phone only has a 1.7% return rate. Apple also showed other phones with the same problem.

They played this song at the start of the conference. Pretty catchy, huh?

Yesterday, Apple once again introduced a new phone. This time, the new iPhone 4.

Yesterday, Apple once again introduced a new phone. This time, the new iPhone 4. It has been completely redesigned and has many new features, including front-facing camera for video-chat (FaceTime), 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, A4-chip (like the iPad) and an amazing new screen.

Visit Apple’s iPhone site for more information about this new device.

So do I like it? To be honest… I don’t know. The design is pretty awesome, but I think I like the old just as much. I’ve always loved the round curves of the 3G and 3GS. I do like all of the new features. The camera looks great and I’m sure the A4-chip makes it very fast.

As Steve Jobs said, I think I’ll have to see it in person before I can say more.

Here’s a video from the keynote by CNET.

Oh, and yes… It’s the same device Gizmodo got their hands on some weeks ago.

Apple showed us iPhone OS 4 for the first time yesterday, April 8, and it's better than I expected!

Apple showed us iPhone OS 4 for the first time yesterday, and I was of course following Gizmodo’s and Engadget’s live blog(and updating it like crazy).

So do I like it? Yes, it’s better than I expected. I don’t know why, but I didn’t really expect that much, I’m already happy with my iPhone. But as usual, Apple managed to show us a lot of new awesome things. Folders, iAd, Game Center, new dock, background wallpaper and multitasking to name a few. But, I must say… I’m a little disappointed that Multitasking won’t work on my 3G, but I do understand Apple. Of course, the processor in my 3G is too slow compared to the 3GS and iPad. But again, I still like it! They presented a lot of useful things, which again shows that Apple does make the best phone in the world. Maybe you don’t agree, but I can’t really see any reasons why you shouldn’t…

If you don’t know anything about the new iPhone OS 4, then you can read more about it at Apple’s website, or at almost every website about gadgets in the world. Here’s a quick video from MacWorld:

Windows Phone 7 Series is a new a new mobile operating system for Microsoft.

Windows Phone 7 Series is a new mobile operating system from Microsoft. Until now, I haven’t been reading a lot about it, but I think it looks very cool – and I’m an iPhone user! Not that I think it’s better than iPhone… Well, I guess it’s the best thing from Microsoft in a looong time!

Here are two posts about it from Engadget:
Windows Phone 7 Series is official, and Microsoft is playing to win
Windows Phone 7 Series hands-on and impressions

If you’re too lazy, you don’t have to read lots of text, to see how Windows Phone 7 Series looks like. Here’s a video!

I wonder how the next iPhone will be… I think Apple has to come up with something more new, than they did with the 3G and 3GS.

In 2008, I bought my iPhone 3G 16 GB White at release, and I still think it’s the best phone I’ve ever owned, but… I’ve returned several times (3 or 4) for a brand new because of cracks on the back in the plastic. I’ve recently found this little crack on my current iPhone.

As you can see, it’s located near the mute-button. All this about the iPhone 3G cracks is a known problem… Atleast for the 3G. I’m note sure about the 3GS. but it does also have a back of plastic. Here is a link to a old post from Engadget about it – Are iPhone 3Gs developing cracks? .
Maybe some people might of course get angry over it, but actually it doesn’t matter that much to me, because every time I’ve been lucky enough to get a new phone within a week. This might sound stupid, but I think it’s nice to receive a brand new phone every time! … Well, I can’t imagine why I shouldn’t get a new this time… If I don’t, then I think I can live with it… I just want a new if I can. Have you experienced anything like this before?
