Why Do Companies Sell So Many Phones?
1I’ve been wondering about something for some time now… Why do companies sell so many phones?
You know, HTC, Nokia, Sony Ericsson. They have SO many phones, it’s actually pretty hard to find the right one, sometimes.
- HTC Legend
- HTC Desire
- HTC Tattoo
- HTC Hero
- HTC Smart
- HTC Magic
- and more…
Pretty many, huh? Why don’t they, or maybe a new company, create just one ultimate phone? Just like Apple. They keep updating the same phone for a year, before selling a new. I think other companies should try to do the same thing with one of the other mobile systems like Android or Windows Phone 7.
Is it just me, or do you think it would be nice too? Of course it’s also good to sell many phones, it gives the users more choices. But one awesome phone that doesn’t get old the day after the purchase, that’s nice! Again, I was just wondering about this…
Jack Sparrow at Comic-Con 2010!
0Just a few days ago, Jack Sparrow actually appeared in this video at Comic-Con 2010, a convention in San Diego. He talks about his new adventure in the fourth movie of Pirates of the Caribbean.
As you might now, I’m a big fan, so I think this is really awesome. If you’re a fan too, watch it NOW!
The film will hit cinemas all over the world in 3D at May 20th, 2011.
Check Out Joe Nation!
0There are many great YouTubers out there, including DaveDays, Shane Dawson and iJustine. Another video maker, who I think is a little more unknown (or is it just me?) is called Joe Nation. He makes a lot of awesome videos, so you should really check him out.
One of the thing he does, is funny music videos. Here’s one of my favorites!
He also have a series of videos called “YouTube Assassin”. They are quite fun, and looks very professional. Here’s episode one.
Maybe I should start to make videos someday… ?
Apple’s Way to Solve iPhone 4 Problems
2For just 2 days ago, Apple held their iPhone 4 Press Conference to talk about their new mobile phone. They mainly talked about the antenna problem, which everyone has been talking about, including me.
Apple decided to offer free cases to all customers, and if they still don’t like the phone, they can get their money back. People with bumpers already can get a refund.
Steve also mentioned that only 0.55% of iPhone 4 customers have called AppleCare about the issue, and that the phone only has a 1.7% return rate. Apple also showed other phones with the same problem.
They played this song at the start of the conference. Pretty catchy, huh?
You can watch the full conference video here, or check Apple’s antenna website.
iPhone 4 Parodies

Try Firefox 4 Beta!
0Mozilla has just released a beta of the next major release of Firefox. Yes, you read right, a beta of Firefox 4 is now available for download!
I’ve just installed it myself, and the picture on the right, shows how it looks on my Windows 7 system.
As you can see, Mozilla has made some very nice changes to the interface. Doesn’t it look a bit like Opera and Chrome?
The tabs are now on the top, and the menu is hidden. You can easily change the position of the tabs and the menu, if you want to, but I think this looks nice.
According to Mozilla’s blog, it’s only Windows who’ve gotten a visual facelift so far, but they’ll make some updates to the other versions soon. I think the new red “Firefox-button” in the right corner will be Vista and Win7-only.
There are also many new other features including crash protection and more HTML5 support. See release notes for more information about what’s new.
The new look and all the features looks very nice. I think Firefox could easily be my default browser again in the future instead of Chrome.
Download it here for Windows, Mac and Linux. It doesn’t delete your old Firefox, if you already have it installed. Remember, it’s a very early beta.
